Dr Cochin can offer joint injections to help certain conditions of the shoulder, knee and elbows. Each patient needs to be assessed individually by Dr Cochin for suitability. Your regular Doctor will suggest this option to you if it is thought appropriate.
For results of routine investigations patients should contact the surgery to confirm no further action is required 1 week after the investigation. The practice will contact patients directly where abnormal results are received.
To request a routine pregnancy test, bring an early morning sample of urine and either leave it at reception or with the doctor or nurse. This is sent to the hospital and the results are available within two days.
All ladies trying to conceive or confirmed as pregnant should take folic acid 400mcg/day. This is available from chemists and health food shops. Taking folic acid up to the twelfth week in pregnancy substantially reduces the chance of the baby having spina bifida.
Once your pregnancy test has been confirmed as positive please self-refer to the Midwives by ringing 01274 364502 between 1pm and 3.30pm on weekdays.
All the doctors provide a full and completely confidential family planning service. Please book a routine appointment. Staffing pressures mean the the practice can no longer offer LARC services (Long acting reversible contraception).
Contraceptive and sexual health services can be accessed from LOCALA - ring 030 3330 9500 Monday-Friday 08.30-16.30 for appointments and advice.
Pill checks are available at the surgery from our nursing team.
Letters will be sent out offering appointments at our clinics.
Please do not bring ill babies/children to these clinics - they should be seen in a normal surgery appointment. The doctors consider it very important that all children are fully immunised to prevent the risks from the preventable childhood diseases
We hold open clinics starting from October each year to vaccinate those at risk (over 65 year olds, asthmatics, diabetics, heart disease) against influenza.
Ask at reception for details.
